Prisoner's Cyrus

Updated: May 28, 2021

Inspired from "The lucifer effect" by Philip Zimbardo, "Paradise Lost" by John Milton, "The Thieves of Darkness" by Richard Doetsch

Milton gets sentenced to life imprisonment following treason. On the day he enters the central jail, he is allotted a room that has a bed, a washbasin, and a tiny hole on the wall. Only that hole acts as a bulb for the room during sunset. The inmates can wander around the jail in the daytime and should be only in their rooms in the evening time. The dining hall will function only for half an hour when food is provided. Sometimes the food will be nice and sometimes it will be half cooked or contaminated with dead insects. The inmates if interested can eat them or otherwise they are fated to skip the food the entire day. Milton thinks every night "There is no heaven or hell separately. The planet itself consists of both.".

One fine day while Milton walks to the dining hall, he accidentally stamps the jailer Martin's feet. Martin shouts out "Do you know who I am?? Do you know how much authority I have????". Milton says "I'm sorry sir. It's an accident.". Martin asks "JUST answer to what I asked.". Milton says "You're the jailer for the block where my room is in.". Martin says "This foot is what stamped my leg right? You are not going to walk at all today." and takes him to the female inmates' block and ties him up to the chair which is used for electrocution and says "Sit on this the entire day".

As the sun moves towards the west Milton gradually becomes eviler than he was during the treason and post-sunset he becomes wild. At 10 PM in the night suddenly he hears a girl inmate screaming for help. When Martin gets inside and unties Milton, he asks "Who's that girl? what's happening?". Martin says "Are you going to f**k with her? It's none of your business. Go to your room and sleep or die. Bad night. Spicy dreams.".

An angry Milton severely punches Martin on his face and ties him up on the chair after he faints and rushes to find out what's wrong with the girl. There he sees four male inmates (one of them with a knife) trying to kill the girl. Milton shouts "HEY!!!!!" and the four turns back and looks at him. Milton says "What's going on here? GET OUT!!!!!". One among the four asks "Are you authorized for saving this bitch?". The word 'Authorized' revolves and hammers continuously in Milton's mind. He throws his slipper on the inmate who was holding a knife and the knife falls down. The girl then takes the knife and kills all of them.

Milton asks the girl "Who are you? Why you are here?". The girl says "I'm Mississippi. I have been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment following the murder of a person who attempted to rape me and currently it's my 6th year. These four creatures were sent by the rapist's parents to kill me avenging his death.". Milton says "I'm Milton. I was working in the military. I morphed the image of Colonel's daughter. Now give me the knife and go and sleep. See you later.".

Mississippi goes back to her room and Milton takes a fainted Martin to the middle of the jail (which is basically like a rectangular cricket ground and at the top it's completely open and the sky is seen as a rectangle) and puts him down. Then he goes to Martin's room and brings a wine bottle and pours the entire wine into his mouth. Martin lies there the whole night.

The next day morning at 10 PM the higher authorities come and stand around Martin who is lying on the ground after getting the confession statement from Milton, that he killed the four persons, with his fingerprint-proof on the knife. One of the authorities kicks Martin continuously and he wakes up. The authorities with a chorus say "Bad morning Martin. You're dismissed.". Martin says "Milton is the one who did everything. Without killing him why you people are dismissing me??". An authority says "You people are the ones who get responsible when an inmate commits suicide or murder. Nothing will happen for the inmates". In contrast to the inmates, Martin is dismissed from jail.

Following this, the inmates get aware of the weak point of the jailers. Weekly twice or thrice a murder starts happening and the respective jailers get dismissing. When this fears the entire newly appointed jailers, nobody illtreats the inmates; the dining hall operation is for 3 hours and hygienic food is provided; the inmates can wander in evening time also and regular counseling is done to rectify them.

Mississippi falls for Milton after this transformation of the prison's environment and vice versa happens when Milton gets impressed with her character. They forget the fact that they are imprisoned. They start enjoying the days by spending time with each other in jail.

Meanwhile, outside the jail, Milton's mother Christina decides to prove him innocent despite knowing that he really did the crime. Following the Colonel's death during a war, she Whatsapps the morphed image to the Colonel's mobile and threatens his wife Alexa to do whatever she says.

As instructed by Christina, Alexa disables the network time in the Colonel's mobile. She changes the date and time to that of the previous day of Milton's suspension. Then she Whatsapps the image to Milton's mobile and takes a screenshot of that chat and clears all the chats.

The next day she shows the screenshot to the higher authorities in the military. They decide that it was the Colonel who morphed his daughter's image, sent it to Milton, cleared the chats, and blamed Milton for the scam. They show it to the federation and finally, Milton is released from prison and Mississipi is heartbroken due to her separation from him.

Christina brought Milton out of prison just for the sake of the parent-child blood courtesy but is happy to see him transformed from evil to good. Milton rejoins in the Military.

A year later, Mississippi is released from jail. One fine morning at the beach, Milton photographs the sunrise and when he turns to the side he sees Mississippi standing facing the beach. When he goes and meets her, she says "Why you left me behind in the jail? Even though you turned it to heaven, it was hell for me mentally during the last year.".

Milton says "If I was not released from jail, I would have been there throughout my life. And after your release from jail, I would have been regretting your separation until my last breath. Now see, the universe brought both of us out.".

Mississippi accepts the fact and hugs Milton. Thus both get married.
