Augustine Varrier

Augustine Varrier works as DSP in the Indian Embassy of Brazil. He has a 7-year-old son named Joel Varrier who is actually nurtured by his close friend Cyriac and his wife Amy Cyriac. The reason is Augustine's wife Anitha died 7 years back and Augustine is depressed with a question that whether Anitha's love for him sustained in her death or not. Also, his look-alike creature, dressed in the costume which he was wearing during Anitha's death, always hallucinates in front of him very often.

Augustine and Anitha's love story:

8 years back Anitha who was working in an IT company in Rio de Janerio, always had contact with Augustine since he is from the Indian Embassy. One fine day in the checkpost, 5 smugglers were waiting for Augustine who is expected to help them smuggling the cocaines into the city. A car approaches towards them and one says "Is that him?" Another says " Yeah that's him. Augustine Varrier." Another says "From Indian Embassy.". The car stops in front of them and Augustine gets out of the car. When a smuggler happens to talk something about the deal Augustine interrupts and asks for water. The smuggler gives Augustine the water bottle; he drinks the water and instead of returning the bottle to him he throws the bottle into the nearby dustbin since it was actually a wine bottle filled with water. Augustine says "Don't waste our times starring at me. Go ahead with the deal. The smuggler promises 2741898.82 BRL in advance before smuggling and 5% more post smuggling. Augustine said " If it is 5 crores more times before smuggling and 10 crores more times after smuggling, I am ready. Otherwise, you can approach some other wicked in the department" and walked back. As he is going to open the door the smuggler who is standing right to the one to whom Augustine was talking murmured "Old fashioned cop!!!". Augustine then walks towards them and asks "Who said that?". The one who said that attempts to attack Augustine with a cycle chain but Augustine holds the chain which then circulated his hands and when he pulled it forcefully the smuggler also gets pulled and his face hit on the chain. Then Augustine punched the smuggler who is in front of him on his face and punched the right side smuggler on his stomach and he fell into the dust bin. Then he fought the remaining four smugglers by performing martial arts and overpowered them.

Then he went to the dust bin and said "'Old fashioned'!. Did you say that? So what are you now inside this one?"

Then he called the Police officers to the checkpost and all the 5 were arrested and later were sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. On seeing this in News Anitha fell for Augustine and one fine day she proposed him. Augustine replied " I too had a crush on you but my understanding of the fact that the life as a cop is very tough stopped me from proposing you. We will be having full-fledged conversations mostly only on the dining table after marriage". Anitha said "I fell for you only after seeing your heroism as a cop. Neither I nor my love will let your job down after marriage. Marriage life has a fact that a husband should keep his wife happy and vice versa. My happiness is your developing image in your department.". Augustine said, "I love you, Anitha". Anitha said, "I love you, Augustine".

Married life:

Augustine and Anitha flew to India, married and came back to Brazil. The Brazil government announced an operation against the ISIS militants who have trespassed into the city and trying to establish an Islamic state cell. Augustine told Anitha that its a 1-year operation. Anitha said "You can take your time for your success and then return home. I am sending you with all the Gods for your assistance." On the day of Augustine's journey, he said to Anitha "Don't be feared about my life. I am someone who lives for this world and not dies for the world." Anitha said "This is what I like about you. All the best." Augustine and his team started their journey and reached the Acu national forest as they received an intelligence report that the militants will approach this forest anytime. Months passed by and they were nowhere found in the forest.

On a November Tuesday night, Augustine heard some sounds like people speaking the Arabic language. He approached the locality and noticed them by being in the lied down position. He saw two persons dressed up as Jihadis having tattoos in their hands. According to Islamic traditions, nobody will have tattoos in their bodies. Thus he came to a conclusion that they are nothing but the ISIS militants. Then he informed his team members about them. "Listen up Guys, tomorrow we will raise our rifles as the sun rises, trigger the rifles as the sun travel from east to west, and they will diminish as the sun sets!!!".

The next day morning Augustine and team with their rifles waited for the militants in lying down position. A herd of militants approach there and literally Augustine got a call from Anitha. Augustine instead of rejecting the call swiped the message option and texted " I'm in the mission at present and very excited that I am going to succeed before today's sunset under the influence of the blessings of the Gods whom you sent with me and will be there tomorrow morning. Be so kind to wait, my angel". Anitha replies as "Ok". The war outbreaks and ends in the evening after the militants were killed by Augustine and his team. Augustine informed the higher officials about the accomplishment of the mission and everyone started their journey to their homes.

Augustine reached his home the next day at 4 AM. As he enters inside the home Anitha said: " There is a surprise waiting for you." When Augustine says "What is that?", suddenly a bullet penetrated inside through the window next to the door. The 5 smugglers who escaped from the prison enters inside the house and attacks Augustine and he manages to fight them and kills three of them and while killing the fourth person the fifth person triggered the gun and as the bullet was incident to Augustine, Anitha pushed Augustine and she came in between and the bullet struck her. After falling down she took Augustine's gun, which fell down when she pushed him and shot the fifth person.

When Augustine attempts to lift Anitha in his hands, Anitha stops him and turns her eyes towards the bedroom. When Augustine sees the bedroom he finds a baby crying in a cradle. Anitha says "His name is Joel Varrier. He was born on October 25th. Yesterday I called you to inform you about him. But........" and dies. Augustine is heartbroken and feels that he didn't have the patience to listen to his wife when she called him and that his wife was upset about him because of that. Due to over depression, a creature looking similar to him and wearing a costume which he was wearing during the war and during the death of Anitha hallucinates him whenever he behaves as a full-fledged cop. And so he requested Cyriac to nurture Joel Varrier. Thus it was 7 years since Augustine smiled.

Present:

One fine day, Augustine receives a call from Cyriac while driving at night. Cyriac says " One big case has come now. You with me to solve it?". Augustine says "Will let you know tomorrow morning" and cuts the phone. Suddenly the hallucinating look-alike appears at the shotgun seat and says, "Get ready for the case and death as well!!!". Augustine replies " You are free to kill me after I solve this case. I am happy to die as a Police." The look-alike says "Count your days!!!!" and disappears.

The next day morning Augustine visits Cyriac's place to ask about the case. Cyriac says that it is a mysterious missing of an Indian teenager who burnt his younger sister to death and absconded. The teenager was working in the IT company where Anitha was working before she married Augustine.

Melted Candles:

While discussing about the case, 7-year-old Joel Varrier enters the scene and talks to Augustine. Joel says "I haven't seen a smile in your face in my life. Please smile for me now, dad. When Augustine just attempts to smile, the look-alike appears in the window and halts him to smile. Augustine says to Joel "I can't smile now. I'm discussing with Cyriac something else. So..." Joel with tears says " Smile dad!, Please smile dad. Uncle, please ask him smile, Uncle! Please smile dad! Dad Please!..". Amy Cyriac takes Joel inside. Augustine with tears says "I'm extremely sorry Cyriac. I'm not going to handle this case. You kindly handle it and I wish you all success. If you have any doubts ask me and if I strike any clue I will ping you. And one more thing.... Don't do the mistake to Amy which I did to Anitha. Take care of her." and walks out and drives around the city the whole day, to the hotels for food, to the coffee shops for beverages, to the Iguazu waterfalls to daydream about Anitha and goes to his home at night. The look-alike appears and says "It seems you got the desire to live suddenly despite the upcoming deaths in brazil." and disappears.

The next day people of Rio de Janeiro starts protesting against the Jewish culture in brazil. It is found that many of the children were killed as a sacrifice to Satan. So many parents whose children were missing, homeless youths and Evangelical congressmen gather together and start their protest. Cyriac calls Augustine and says that the situation is getting worse and asks him to join with him to which he accepts despite the disturbances by the look-alike.

Augustine and Cyriac go to the IT company and inquires about the teenager. The staffs say that his name is henry and has come from Kerala and his sister was studying in Scotland and that's the only thing they know about him. Augustine and Cyriac go to henry's house and searches for some interesting dots.

Augustine suspects that henry might have sacrificed his sister to Satan but never finds any properties used during the ritual. Augustine says "Cyriac, he should have disposed of the ritual materials. We need to close our noses and search for the dumping area. Now search for his sister's mobile." Cyriac says that no phones are there in the house. Augustine says "So he might have disposed of the phones also. Let's go to the dumping area". Both go to the dumping area and searches there wearing face masks. There they get his sister's phone, a cigarette lighter, a skeleton head and four bones.

Forbidden Worship:

Thus they come to the conclusion that his sister is sacrificed to satan. Using her phone they call their parents but they reject the call. When they discover the whereabouts of them they get to know that they live in Pennakara in Kerala belonging to Kaliyanthala in the east. Augustine knows about this kind of families. They visit churches and follows all the traditions of Christianity. They attend the Sunday masses and novenas without fail. By the way, they appear as sincere and orthodox Christians publically. But secretly they worship dark forces and performs a ritual called 'feeding the black father'. They also sacrifice missionaries or young girls in their families on good Fridays, the day on which Satan is considered to be weak due to his failure against God. They also do this on Maundy Thursdays, Easters and on Christmas also.

Augustine and Cyriac meet the President of Brazil and tells this. The President orders the Police headquarters to survey the abandon places of brazil on the next day i.e Easter Sunday. The Police headquarters use the tor website to send the information to all the Police departments in Brazil.

Return of Happiness:

The same day evening when Joel comes home from his school he says to Cyriac a Tamil speaking magician with a Malayalam speaking host from Kerala visited the school and performed hypnotism on volunteers and asked their past life and that he also participated. He says that when his mind travelled 7 years back he heard the voices of Anitha saying "Tonight we are going to meet a person who wants to live and don't wants to die for this world. Tonight we are going to meet a Policeman and not a Police. Tonight we are going to meet a person who is not someone who has nothing to lose".

When Cyriac reveals this to Augustine he is overwhelmed, smiles and realizes that Anitha whispered those quotes to Joel after reading the message he sent before attacking the ISIS militants. Thus he realizes the true love between him and Anitha and gets back his happiness and the look-alike will never appear anymore. Suddenly it starts to rain and he goes to the terrace and shouts out loud "I LOVE YOU ANITHA" happily. When a flash of lightning passes, Anitha hallucinates gigantically for some seconds and shouts "I LOVE YOU AUGUSTINE" which overwhelms Augustine.

Confronting the evil:

On the other hand, he gets suspicious on the magician's host. He asks the name of him and Cyriac says that his name is Philips.

When the rain stops, Cyriac goes to the airport and learns that he hasn't yet departed from brazil. Augustine says over the phone "Ok, we'll hunt for him tomorrow. Good night.", cuts the phone and sleeps peacefully.

So the next day morning, Augustine and Cyriac goes to Joel's school, meets the headmaster and asks where Philips is staying. He says that he stays in the JW Marriott hotel. When both go to the hotel they learn that Philips left to the airport a few minutes ago. They get his phone number and Cyriac calls him and mimics the voice of the hotel manager and asks him to immediately come to the hotel to which he accepts and is on his way. Augustine and Cyriac, by tracking Philips, drive towards the airport way and stops Philips on the way and take him to Police custody.

Augustine asks Philips "Aren't you henry? Aren't you from Pennakara? You belong to the Kaliyanthala family in the east right?". Philips shouts "Bull shit! I'm not belonging to any of these f**king things. I'm from Cochin. Leave me or I'll miss the flight". He also shows the flight ticket which he booked from Rio De Janeiro to Cochin and his address in Cochin.

Augustine says "Cyriac, in our country when the police catch a criminal what they will do?". Cyriac says "They will safely escort him to the station, court and to the prison.". Augustine says "If the same criminal is caught by a common man?". Cyriac says "He will be burnt to death". Philips starts sweating. Augustine says "If we are the common men from Police department what is the fate of criminals? They will know the difference between Police and Policeman". A shivering Philips alias Henry says "Sir! I'll tell you the truth, Sir! My name is Henry, sir! All I have is forged documents with the name Philips Sir!". Cyriac says "Good show Augustine!".

Augustine asks "So tell me, Where are the Satan worship centres in Rio De Janerio?". Henry gives all the details of the Satan worship centres in brazil. Henry is locked in the custody. The details are forwarded through the tor website to all the Police department in Brazil. So all the cops of brazil go and hide in the respective centres till sunset. When the Satanists arrive there for the sacrificing rituals the cops fire and kills them and the children abducted by them are rescued.

The protest is called off. Henry is hanged to death and his family commits suicide by burning themselves. Joel starts living with Augustine and both lead a happy life.
